A barrier -free access is made possible by leveling and the design of the cable car is based on the cubic form of salt crystals. A 280 m² flagship store is set up in the valley station, and visitors can look forward to a lookout terrace and a restaurant that should address both locals and tourists.

a long history of salt mining

The history of the salt mine goes far back and can be persecuted until 1816 when Royal Bavarian Salinen Councilor Georg von Reichenbach was commissioned to plan the solely line from Berchtesgaden to Bad Reichenhall. This solo line was technically groundbreaking and was an important connection for salt transport, as reported by the Salzbergwerke. It stays in operation until 1927 and still represents an interesting hiking trail today.

In Hallstatt, this tradition continues with the current renovation of the Salzbergbahn and the opening of the new market shop, which heralds an exciting time for both the local economy and the tourism industry.
