Stromer on the rise: Electric cars conquer Lower Austria!

The last five years show that the proportion of electric vehicles in Lower Austria has almost quintupled. Especially in the district of Mistelbach it looks rosy: around 28 percent of the newly approved cars are electric vehicles. The districts Wiener Neustadt Land and Amstetten follow close to 27 percent .

The trend towards electromobility

In connection with electromobility, it is striking that the spread of single -family houses and photovoltaic systems is considered positive. Many homeowners have already jumped on the train of environmentally friendly cars. The electric cars are more energy-efficient in the company than their combustion fellow colleagues and cause 53 percent fewer CO₂ emissions -that counts!

However, there is also less gratifying news: the CO₂ emissions of new diesel cars now reach almost 153 grams per kilometer , a value that is even above that of petrol engines. This is particularly questionable, because around 80 percent of the new diesel cars end up with companies or legal entities. More and more e-charging stations in Austria it becomes clear that the infrastructure keeps pace with the trend. Around 18,600 charging stations are currently available, a huge progress, even if we only use eleventh place in Europe. Most charging stations can be found in Lower Austria , while Vienna comes to round 2.500 .
