TTC Guntramsdorf and Badener TTA: Strong partnership for table tennis!
The table tennis world in Lower Austria takes an exciting turn: the TTC Guntramsdorf and the Baden table tennis amateurs (TTA) have come together and start the new season together. This cooperation should not only expand the training opportunities, but also facilitate the team composition in the Lower Austrian championship. Christoph Lehner, the CEO of Guntramsdorf, describes the collaboration as a real "win-win situation".
"By bundling our forces, we can offer our members new training partners: inside and additional training times," said Lehner. Gerald Gschiegl, the chairman of the Baden TTA, added that with his decades of experience as a functional and international referee, the association benefits from a lot of valuable knowledge.
tradition and success
The BTTA has a long tradition that dates back to 1950 when the club was founded. One can be particularly proud of the numerous successes in the youth area, where countless national championship titles have been achieved. Just think of the glorious season 1963/64, in which the team around Karl Beyhl, Walter Mitterstöger and Siegfried Blaha won the Lower Austrian League. Christoph Fidi, a talented player of the 90s, largely inspired the structure of a Bundesliga team and became multiple U15 and U18 champions.
But the Badener AC has much more to offer. It is considered the oldest table tennis association in Europe and was founded in 1924. His story is peppered with successes, including the orientation of world championships in the 1930s. Even today, players such as Marianne Schwaiger and Mateja Mijatovic bring remarkable success in the young area, including several titles at the state level.
table tennis in the upswing
table tennis is not only one of the most popular sports in Austria, but is also particularly popular. According to the Austrian table tennis association (ÖTTV), over 26,500 active players are currently organized in 545 clubs. The healthy infrastructure and continuous success in international competitions have contributed to the fact that sport enjoys a high priority.
With well -known personalities such as Werner Schlager and Liu Jia, who celebrated international successes, Austria became an attraction for talents from all over the world. Players who came to Austria as "legionnaires" contributed significantly to the further development of table tennis sports and the domestic scene with fresh impulses. Table tennis has thus developed into a synonym for success and community.
The new merger of TTC Guntramsdorf and Btta can therefore be seen as another step into a promising future. When tradition meets fresh ideas, there is great potential in the development of table tennis in Lower Austria.
