140 children discover the story in Hollabrunn's city laboratory!
What an exciting day in the Hollabrunn City Museum! Over 140 children aged 9 to 16 had the opportunity to immerse yourself in the exciting adventure of history and culture. The young explorer welcomed the chairwoman of the city museum, Patrizia Mantler-Stockinger. Here everyone got their money's worth, be it through the city laboratory, which focused on the history of the Hofmühle and urban development, or through many interactive offers.
A highlight of the program was the unique opportunity to experience a flower carbon injection that was used to combat the reblaus. This made the children shine! Many were particularly enthusiastic about the fossil oysters, which are around 17 million years old and were in the archeology kit. So history came alive!
diverse activities in the city laboratory
The city laboratory served as a modular system in which the children were able to immerse themselves in different modules: from city and archeology to economy to nature. Creativity was a trump card! With old print models, the young artists had the opportunity to print their own fabric pieces. Another highlight was a memory game that was designed with Hollabrunner postcards, and a puzzle that addressed catastral communities.
For the older students of the middle school, the archbishop's high school and the HLW, there were six craftsmen and an interesting museum guide. The students were completely blown away when they were able to experiment with a fist wedge and in craft activities such as paper scoops and leather braids. Even with natural colors from plants and earth, it was painted, and historical pressure rollers were also used.
Extended offers and workshop for adults
The city museum not only offers programs for children. A book binding workshop found successfully on June 21st. with Dieter Halama. Even in bad weather, entertainment is very important: interactive exhibitions, workshops such as painting and tinkering, and the opportunity to act as a small archaeologist round off the offer.
