Carinthia is looking for 146 teachers: Now apply until June 22nd!

At the beginning of this week, the Carinthian Education Directorate launched a new tender procedure that is supposed to bring fresh wind into the classrooms. A total of 146 teachers will be sought for the coming school year 2025/26, which is quite important in view of the approximately 68,000 pupils at 357 locations in the state. The application deadline runs until June 22, 2025, and interested career changers are also invited to apply. The aim is to further strengthen the quality of education through qualified staff, especially in the west and east education regions, which include districts such as Hermagor, Villach-Stadt and Wolfsberg. According to 5min.at the chances of employment are particularly high in these regions.

What does it look like? The positions are 126 posts advertised in Carinthia. Of this, 71 are eliminated in the elementary school area, including 10 jobs in religious education. 47 positions must be awarded at middle schools, including 3 in religion. The polytechnic schools and specialist vocational schools are also in the picture: there are a total of 7 jobs.

The educational directorate is not only planning for Carinthia, but also other tenders that are intended for August 15, 2025. These new positions are considered an important measure to meet the ongoing teacher requirement in schools. Nationwide, up to 6,100 items are advertised with around 89,000 hours, which corresponds to over 4,000 full -time teachers. In Vienna and the surrounding federal states in particular, there is a high need because many teachers are sought there.
