In Feldkirchen, the boys and Madl clubs face a major challenge: they dream of their own club home, but reality looks different. Despite a promise of the local council to build a large clubhouse, little has happened so far. Club life is currently housed in provisional rooms above the sports restaurant.

With fresh wind and 20 new members, the clubs have stimulated the sense of community. Manuel Schön, UWV council and member of the boys' association, makes no secret of the fact that the space in the transition rooms is not sufficient. A farmer has agreed to provide a property of 1600 square meters on Münchner Strasse. But the joy of this offer was only briefly, because the planning of the area met with legal hurdles.

a double damper for the club plans

Building director Martin Schmidt-Roschow was forced to reject the application for the property. "The property is outdoors and a clubhouse is not permitted there," he explains. A change in the land use plan would be necessary, which is not only time -consuming, but also with high costs. In addition, Schmidt-Roschow expresses concerns about the possible noise pollution and additional traffic that a club home would bring with it-aspects that the residents could possibly annoy.

Alternative suggestions, such as the relocation of the property or the enlargement to 3200 square meters, also found no mercy at the authority. This meant that Christian Wilhelm from the SPD suggested a different way: he recommended that he double the property to win the necessary areas for changing the land use plan. But this proposal has not yet been heard.

a new option in view

The situation remains tense, because Schmidt-Roschow referred to already decided plans for a clubhouse on the Kiesgrund. However, Mayor Andreas Janson (UWV) recognizes the commitment of the clubs and gave hope that a new opportunity for a club home could soon be discussed. The clubs can therefore hope for a glimmering future, even if the way there is still stony.

In summary, it remains to be said: The guys and madl associations in Feldkirchen continue to fight for their dream seat.
