In Burgenland, football fans and athletes mourn Josef David, who died on July 9, 2025 at the age of 84. The former footballer and referee leaves an impressive sporting heritage. In the 1960s and 1970s, David was active in the field and played in clubs such as Großpetersdorf, Oberwart and Jabing. After his active career, he made a career as a referee and soon became an estimated Bundesliga referee who also worked internationally.
