Kulm celebrates historical five-time victory at the fire brigade competition!
In bright weather and a large crowd of spectators, the 51st fire service competitions of the Güssing district took place last weekend. Over 25 competition groups started to demonstrate their skills in various disciplines. Above all, the Kulm fire brigade, which caused a sensation with a historical five-fold success and won the coveted titles in five categories. This clearly shows how much the Kulm firefighters trained to make suction and extinguishing pipes rapidly.
In the categories bronze A, silver A, wet competition, parallel competition and the overall ranking, Kulm took the lead and once again demonstrated her outstanding performance. As MeinDzirk were required to demonstrate not only their extinguishing technology, but also had to be demonstrated complete exciting relay race. Many groups showed their skills and the audience cheered.

The event was accompanied by numerous guests of honor, including the Member of the National Councilor Michael Gmeindl, the member of the state parliament Bernd Strobl and Jürgen Dolesch, as well as district captain Nicole Wild and Mayor Roman Jandrisevits. District fire brigade commander Thomas Jandrasits also addressed a few moving words to the assembled firefighters. Once again, the importance of commitment, camaraderie and reliability was emphasized, which the fire brigades in Austria distinguish. It is these values that also shape the fire service competitions.
Fire service competitions have a long tradition in Austria, which dates back to 1925 when the first competition took place in Gattendorf. The aim of these competitions is not only the sporting competition, but also the promotion of team spirit and the practical practice of fire brigade handles.
