Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, Österreich - In a few days, Klagenfurt am Wörthersee will again become the pulsating center of German -language literature. From June 26th to 28th, 2025 the fascinating reading competition for Ingeborg-Bachmann Prize , which has been awarded in the city since 1977. On these three days, 14 authors from Austria, Germany and Switzerland present unpublished texts. Special features of the competition are the daily readings and discourses that live from 10 a.m. on 3sat are transferred.
The exciting hunt for the coveted prize culminates in the announcement of the award winner on June 29, 2025, from 11 a.m. In addition to the fabulous Ingeborg Bachmann Prize, which is endowed with 25,000 euros and the jury, under the chair of Klaus Kastberger, will also be awarded, the 3sat price of 7,500 euros is also awarded.
