20 years of courage: help for the needy in Vienna - a strong network!

An important anniversary is celebrated in Vienna today: The association of courage, the origin of which is in the Wieden, goes on a journey into its twentieth year and is tirelessly committed to the needy in the city. Homeless, single and poor children are the focus of the club's activities, which is characterized by a close -meshed network of more than 33,000 members and numerous volunteers.

The association was founded in 2005 as a non-profit organization and has undergone remarkable development in the past two decades. He currently supports around 220 people a week with food. The food distribution takes place in the Rights Wienzeile 37 , where above all, fresh food from our own field in the Marchfeld. "What comes together is really impressive," says Michael Mark-Straisenthal, one of the committed volunteers who also helps with the food edition.

Diverse support for the needy

The association not only offers the basics of food distribution. As part of projects such as the YESWECARE! The initiative even includes special well -being days on which the needy hairstyles and massages are offered. "This is not only a material help, but also a piece of appreciation," said Walch, the chairman of the association. Also in child and family aid, courage with crisis accommodation for single parents and start-up apartments for families at risk of poverty, which are financed by their own means and donations.

The commitment is supplemented by various help offers such as school start packages and the "Christmas angel" campaign. The social footprint of the association extends beyond Vienna to Salzburg, where the house of life of the homeless person has been given a home since 2024. "We really have a good hands when it comes to starting new projects," said Walch with a smile.
