Conflicts in the liver path: Trinkbrunnen decision causes discussions!

Simmering, Österreich - On July 1, 2025, the first meeting of the Simmering district council took place in this legislative period. This session, as reported by the NEOS, was characterized by a significant application for resolution by the SPÖ to convict the stream of rainbow flags in the 11th district. This resolution was assumed by all factions, with the exception of the FPÖ. A clear sign of the common responsibility, the diversity and the rights of all citizens: to protect inside.

Another agenda item turned out to be hot: the application for a drinking fountain in the dog zone in Leberweg. First of all, this application was postponed to the environmental committee. A drinking fountain is currently about a hundred meters away, between a playground and a sports facility. Residents: Inside, conflicts between dogs, children and sporting activities in the adjacent area reported. In the next meeting, which will take place on July 15, negotiations will be made about the drinking fountain.

The session also brought up the list of a donor for dog coot sack in the dog zone. This measure is intended to improve hygiene in the dog zone and the living together of dog owners: inside and other park visitors: promote inside. There was also a suggestion for regular lawn care in this zone to increase quality of stay.

Another topic was the lighting situation in the park on the Leberweg. Anrainer: Inside, better and better lighting conditions, especially in winter, were required. The district council accepted the request and will check the situation.

The Simmering district council meets at least once a quarter and each session is open to the public. Protocols of the meetings can be viewed in the district head and are available as a download, as is underlined by the commitment of people in politics that every councilor and district council has the opportunity to enter written applications.

The Simmeringer citizens: Inside, are still called to send their ideas to improve the district. Inquiries, applications and communications can be sent via email to Simmering@neos.eu , which means that everyone has the chance to actively participate in the design of their surroundings.

With all of these initiatives, it remains to be seen how the measures and applications that will develop. The transparency and the possibilities for citizen participation are very popular in Simmering, and it remains exciting what progress can be made in the coming months.
