Donaustadt, Wien, Österreich - The unlimited variety of nature is soon to be visible in the Park of Biodiversity in the Danube City. The planning for this interesting project is already taking forms and promise a new local recreation area that is an enrichment for both humans and animals. This park will be created on an impressive area of ​​11 hectares, larger than the Helmut-Zilk-Park and comparable to the Vienna City Park. The first construction phase should be completed in early summer 2025.

The project does not only include the simple matter of greening. Rather, there will be a new forest, which is enriched by a planting campaign under the motto "Forest of the young Viennese". Here, 15,000 square meters of young forest are created, supported by an initiative that lets students actively help shape in workshops. The use of materials is ensured by the forestry and farm of the city of Vienna, supported by forester and the team of "Greenlab". Vice Mayor Kathrin Gaál emphasizes how important it is to give girls the opportunity to bring in and implement their ideas.

Overall, more than 2 million euros will be invested in the project, with the soil reusing of nearby large construction sites for the modelization of terrain. The construction work is expected to begin from mid -July 2024.
