Plansee relies on trees: Together for a climate silver bergwald!
In the region around the Plansee region, great things are happening in the field of environmental protection and reforestation. The Plansee company has decided to help the reforestation of the mixed forest above the Plansee. Together with the initiative " Klimafitter Bergwald Tirol " and the municipality of Breitenwang will be planted in the coming years. This campaign is not only important for nature, but also an recognition of the excellent performance of the Plansee employees in the past year.
For the first time,At the Plansee Sales Meeting, which brings around 200 sales employees from all over the world to Reutte every two years, no longer recognized with trophies. Rather, the trees are now in the foreground: From 2023, special achievements are symbolically recognized with climate-resistant leaf and conifers, which are planted in the protective forest on the Plansee. Here, tree species such as pine, larches, mountain hamers and beeches come for planting.

The "Klimafitter Bergwald Tirol" initiative has the clear goal of maintaining the mountain forests in the outside for future generations and making them more resistant to the effects of climate change. Ulrich Lausecker, managing director at Plansee, emphasizes the company's responsibility for the region. Together with the Tyrol State Forest Directorate, the agricultural community and other partners, it is being used to replace monocultures with species -rich mixed forests.
A total of 7,500 young trees are to be cared for professionally in the first ten years and protected against wild bite. These reforestation projects are crucial, not only for the preservation of our forests, but also for the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. Trees play a central role in the global carbon cycle by absorbing CO2 through photosynthesis and saving in the long term. Forest protection and reforestation projects are therefore not only crucial for nature, they also offer social and economic advantages, create jobs and promote biological diversity.
Against this background, Plansee also has the ambitious goal of reducing its own greenhouse gas emissions by 75% by 2030 compared to 2020. So far, the company has already saved over 20% of emissions. This commitment reflects the will of Plansee not only to do good business, but also to actively contribute to climate protection.
