Jack Burke breaks record: Supergirodolomiti with spectacular victories!

Lienz, Österreich - On June 8, 2025 it was said again: ramps until they fall over at the Supergirodolomiti and the Dolomite Cycle Tour. The events took place in first -class weather and a record participation of over 2,000 cyclists from 29 nations. This time, the predictions of heavy rain failed to predict, which also gave the athlete motivation to do their best. While the tired legs fought hard for the first places, there were impressive solo victories that captivated the audience. Osttirol today reports that Jack Burke from Canada decided to make the supergirodolomiti with a new route record of 6:25 hours.

Allow us to tell you a little more about the exciting race results. Burke crossed the finish line in Lienz with almost 20 minutes ahead of his pursuers. The former UCI MTB world champion Alban Lakata and Daniel Federspiel landed in places second and three, both of whom arrived almost 20 minutes later. The Supergirodolomiti spent a challenging distance of 228 kilometers with a vertical increase of 5,450 meters, and led over the famous Gailbergsattel mountain passes, Plöckenpass and culminated on Monte Zoncolan. This event attracts extreme athletes every year, and for good reason!

First victory for Pammer on the Dolomite Cycling tour

Rene Pammer from Upper Austria celebrated his first victory on the 37th Dolomite Rad tour. The 32-year-old won the 112-kilometer route, which was peppered with 1,870 meters of altitude, in a time of 2:47 hours. Pammer set off decisively on the Gailbergsattel and finished Simon Schupfer with a lead of about 1.5 minutes. He narrowly missed Jan Kattanek's existing route record, which is 2:46 hours.

But that wasn't all! In the women, Daniela Traxl-Pintarelli from Tirol prevailed and won the competition after 3:10 hours. It was followed by Elisabeth Fladerer from Germany and Corina Pichler from East Tyrol. Ils van der Moeren from Belgium crowned the winner again over the long distance, gaining her second title over this route after she was able to triumph in 2023.

a record of participants

The enthusiasm for the cycling events was particularly large this year. A total of 160 children and young people took part in the children's races that took place on Saturday - that is a new record! These events are often the first step for young talents to prove themselves in cycling and find joy in the competition.

When we look at the view of the event and its organization, we see that everything went smoothly again. Despite the challenges of the previous year, when a rock fall broke off the event, everything seemed to be optimally prepared this year. The applause of the spectators in the finish line and support from music bands contributed to the excellent atmosphere. The entire event illustrates how high cycling is in the course and how much joy and cohesion it brings into the region.

For those who have not made it, the next event is already being planned. The support and enthusiasm for cycling in the region are unbroken. It remains exciting how the upcoming events will develop.
