Brixen, Italien - On June 10th and 11th June 2025, the 3rd study seminar from the Universities of Padua and Innsbruck took place in the picturesque ambience of Casa della Gioventù Universitaria in Brixen. At this seminar, there were dissertants: Inside the Institute for Italian Law at the University of Innsbruck and the doctoral schools at the University of Padua to exchange their dissertation topics. Such cooperation builds on a long tradition, as Prof. Umberto Roma emphasized in his greeting. He recalled the historical connection between the two institutions, which is also reflected in the joint research work.

Among the participants: A total of 23 dissertants were inside: inside, who were able to present their work in an inspiring setting. The Innsbruck talents were supervised by Prof. Esther Happacher, Prof. Margareth Helfer and Prof. Francesco A. Schurr, while the doctoral schools in Padua were under the direction of Prof. Paola Lambrini and Prof. Arianna Fusaro.

The topics of the dissertations were remarkably diverse and ranged from classic legal issues to legal -historical aspects to modern challenges, such as the digitization of law and the influence of new technologies on the legal system. This bandwidth shows how relevant the field is today. The highlights of the seminar included the so -called LECTIONES MAGISTRALES. Referenced experts, such as Prof. Luigi Garofalo, who spoke about "in the tentacles of the process: between Klimt and Kafka", and Prof. Fulvio Cortese, who dealt with the "definitions, transformations and challenges of democracy".

A special aspect of the University of Padua is the promotion of Open Access. biblio.unipd.it confirms that the university makes all dissertations accessible in open archives. This measure allows the public to view the work after their conclusion, which significantly promotes the exchange of knowledge and ideas. The storage of the dissertations in the Padua Thesis & Dissertation Archive is mandatory for doctoral theses and ensures that the copyrights remain with the author.
