Tyrolean talent honored: Kaschka and Schober win poetry slam prices!

On June 22, 2025, the time had come again: The coveted poetry slam prices will find their winners. This year Emil Kaschka and Anna Schober can look forward to the awards that are awarded by the state of Tyrol and the city of Innsbruck. The ceremonial award ceremony will take place on September 23 during the festival of culture in the Haus der Musik in Innsbruck. For the sixth time, the two institutions have already rewarded the outstanding talents of the Tyrolean Slam-Poetry-Scene, such as tirol.gv.at

Emil Kaschka, born in 1996, receives the reigned price -endowed price, while Anna Schober, born in 2001, is awarded the sponsorship award of 1,000 euros. Kaschka, who has already become Vice World Champion in the Poetry Slam and won the Ö-Slam championship in 2023, has repeatedly demonstrated his skills in recent years. His performances, who combine seriousness with entertainment, have already caused a sensation beyond the national borders. The jury in particular praises the linguistic art and the presentation skills of both award winners, such as the Tiroler daily newspaper emphasizes.

The winners in detail

Kaschka, who was born in Innsbruck and studied German studies at several universities, began his career at the bakery poetry slam in his hometown. He has won a loyal fan base with his unique style, the oral and written, dialect and high language. His texts are not only valued for their depths, but also for their joke.

Anna Schober, who saw the light of day in Salzburg, lives in Innsbruck today and has established itself as one of the most exciting new voices in the scene. Her texts convince with a flowing flow and an impressive thematic depth. She provided the proof of her talent on various Tyrolean slam stages, where she captivates the audience with humor and attitude. In addition, she is active in the organization committee of the Austrian Poetry Slam championships, which underlines its commitment to the scene.

prices and backgrounds

The Poetry SLAM Prize is awarded in two categories: the appreciation price, which recognizes a total work in the Slam Poetry area, and the sponsorship award for aspiring talents. It is an exciting way to continuously pursue developments within the Tyrolean poetry slam scene. The jury, which consists of experts in the scene, develops a list of proposals before the announced prices are confirmed by the responsible authorities, as innsbruck.gv.at explains.

This shows that it is clearly high in Tyrol when it comes to promoting and appreciation of poetic talents. The award ceremony in September promises to become a highlight for all Poetry Slam fans, and it can be expected that both, Kaschka and Schober, will also shape future events. While the anticipation for the award ceremony is increasing, the literary enthusiasts can look forward to an exciting festival of culture, where creativity and community focus on.
