successful role models and similar initiatives
Similar programs already exist in other cities, such as Vienna, where the ÖAMTC has been offering free cycling courses for women since 2015. These courses have addressed over 1,000 women from different countries and also promote independent mobility. Groups and individual appointments that are specifically tailored to the needs of women show that there is great interest and need for such offers. The program in Vienna originally aims to support integration initiatives for women with a migration background, but has also increasingly attracted domestic participants.
In summary, it can be said that the planned bike courses in Innsbruck are an excellent opportunity to make it easier for women and young people to access cycling. This initiative can not only increase the quality of life of the participants, but also make a contribution to the sustainable traffic design in the region.
