The SC Imst is on an exciting course in the Regionalliga West, and the anticipation of the new season is already clearly noticeable. With an ambitious team in the Landesliga West and strong sponsors, especially the Sparkasse Imst, those responsible are optimistic about the future. Chairman Manuel Westreicher recently announced a new presentation for the young manager in order to further promote the development of young talents. In particular, the cooperation with the Sparkasse Imst, which has been supporting the association for many years and whose contract was extended in 2022, plays a central role.

On July 25th, the new challenge for SC Imst begins with the first round of the ÖFB Cup. Here you will meet the second division promoted Hertha Wels in the velly arena, and kick-off is at 7 p.m. The first matchday in the Regionalliga West is already certain: On July 30th, SVG Reichenau will be kicked in Innsbruck, followed by the first home game on August 5 against Dornbirner SV. Preparations are in full swing - both for the team and for the numerous young teams, who are looked after by around 30 trainers: inside. Around 300 children and adolescents are active in the youth department, including 60 girls who play in the highest Tyrolean women's league.

The view of the last season

coach Jens Scheuer draws a positive record from last season and praises the achievements of Austria Salzburg, which won the championship title. For the 2025/26 season, the declared goal of the association is to achieve similar successes, even if club manager Martin Schneebauer emphasizes that a championship title cannot be planned. Nevertheless, the competition, especially Wacker Innsbruck, can reduce the chances of the SC Imst on the title.

In preparation, the team is faced with some challenges. The players plague injuries, especially Florian Jamnig, René Schneebauer and Thomas Moser. But the cohesion in the team is strong, which also confirms midfielder Thomas Kofler. Goalkeeper Christian Steinlechner and captain René Prantl also emphasize the quality of the team and the good defensive work.

youngsters and future visions

With a clear focus on young talent, the SC Imst would like to play football attractively in the future. This is not only reflected in the commitment of the Sparkasse, but also in the older Brigard by Benjamin Köll, who trains the Imst Juniors. These are already looking forward to the exciting Landesliga derbies against teams such as Schönwies/Mils, Landeck and Zams.

The Regionalliga West has a lot of excitement to offer and the SC Imst is ready to face the challenges. The fans can look forward to an exciting season, which is addressed with a lot of commitment, good teamwork and the support of loyal sponsors. The coming time could be decisive and maybe even shape the football experience in the region.
