Modern siren in the Professor Weiß Museum: Voitsberg is becoming safer!
Another step to improve disaster protection in Voitsberg has now been carried out with the installation of a modern siren system at the Professor Franz Weiß Museum in Tregist. This measure aims to significantly expand the comprehensive acoustic alarm in the region and thus to warn the population in good time in an emergency. Mayor Bernd Ouprian described the new siren as a decisive step for effective emergency protection. The new systems enable fast and coordinated reactions in the event of a disaster, which is of great importance in the face of increasing natural hazards and unpredictable crisis situations.
The functioning of the new siren system is characterized by both modern technology and a reliable emergency power supply, which is ensured with batteries. This ensures that the siren remains functional even in the event of a power failure. The siren is triggered via radio signals from the state warning center and from various fire department stations. This ensures additional security and efficient alarm processing, which can be crucial in critical moments. The system thus becomes an indispensable part of the emergency infrastructure in Voitsberg.
modern sirens for the future
The new sirens are not only efficient, but also technologically up to date. According to the experts: inside of Eurobos that offer such systems, the electronic siren warning systems can be controlled and monitored centrally. This enables dispatcher and technicians effective control of all linked systems. This requires an interplay of sirens, speakers and radio switch recipients in order to optimally use the different forms of alarm. The possibility of connecting existing alarm networks ensures that the systems can be flexibly used in different use scenarios.
After the flood disasters of 2021, a siren promotion program was launched in Germany, which could also provide important impulses for domestic warning infrastructure. Funding is provided to support the purchase of new sirens and the modernization of existing technologies. The Austrian municipalities could also benefit from such programs in order to bring their alarm systems up to date and to protect the population even better. Ultimately, however, the effectiveness of such programs depends on the implementation and commitment of the municipalities on site, as the Federal Office for Population Protection and Disaster Aid (BBK) explains.
FAZIT
The new siren facility at Professor Franz Weiß Museum is a positive sign of the security of the population in Voitsberg. At a time when natural disasters and other crisis situations occur more and more often, a functioning alarm structure is essential. Modern technologies and financial support make it possible to increase security for everyone. Whether by local initiatives or government support programs - for the municipalities there is now an opportunity to sustainably improve the warning infrastructure. It is to be hoped that these efforts will also be granted across Austria.
