Over 100 students discover the world of printing in Fürstenfeld!

Last week, the Scharmer print house in Fürstenfeld and Feldbach opened its doors for over 100 pupils from the Sinabelkirchen elementary school and the BRG/Borg Feldbach. As part of the fourth "Action Week of Open Printing", the young guests were able to experience how the "black art" works. This very informative event took place from May 19 to 23 and provided insights into the fascinating processes of printing production. "Over 1,200 pupils from all over Austria take part in this action week," emphasizes Peter Sodoma, Managing Director of the Print Association, who has been organizing the event for four years.

The campaign is intended to promote interest in the printing and media industry and shows how diverse the printed products offered are. These range from posters to books to labels and packaging for food or medication, which is supported by the large number of printers in Austria, around 600, and over 9,000 employees. This week offers a valuable opportunity to ask questions about production techniques, security printing and scanning points directly to the experts.

A look behind the scenes

The students could not only watch, but also actively ask questions and learn more about the challenges and possibilities in the printing industry. Such events are particularly important in order to inspire professions in the media and printing industry at an early stage. The first day of the pressure was called on May 20, 2022 and the focus is still on sensitizing students: inside the world of printing and showing how this versatile area works.

The printing industry is not only faced with challenges in Austria, but also internationally. According to print.de, many companies in the pressure area are minted small and medium -sized. In order to remain competitive here, printers have to remain innovative and integrate new technologies into their processes, from digital pressure to refined printing processes. These trends are also forced by increasing demand for cross media products and individual printing.

The action week impressively shows that the printing industry remains an important part of the means of communication, even if the industry is constantly changing. From digitization to the development of new job profiles - the future of the printing industry must be designed dynamically.

Overall, such events are a step in the right direction in order to optimally prepare the next generation for the diverse possibilities in this industry and to raise awareness of the importance of printed products.
