The Styrian football club Sturm Graz experienced an impressive wave of helpfulness last Wednesday. Hundreds of fans followed the call of their team to donate blood in the training center, and the campaign lasted until the evening. According to Krone , a total of 600 blood canned goods were collected - a record number that has not been reached in the past 20 years.

The amount of blood donated is particularly remarkable because it took place at a time when the need for blood canned man is urged. Christian Steinscherer, an expert in the Red Cross, was active in the training center throughout the event. "We are glad that so many people took the time that day to help," says Steinscherer.

• Thursday, June 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Austrian Health Insurance Fund
• on Friday, June 13th, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the ORF state studio Styria and in the Graz town hall
• on Saturday, June 14th, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Blood Bank in the LKH Graz

These initiatives are part of a larger call to the blood and plasma donation, which takes place on the occasion of the global blood donation day. On June 14, 2024, there will be an increased call to promote the donation numbers and ensure that the blood stocks are sufficient, which in the past, as data from Germany show, was not always the case, especially in vacation times.
