Big rush at the 4th environmental church in St. Michael - a festival for nature!

Volkshaus St. Michael i.O., Eisenbichl 15, 8724 St. Michael in Obersteiermark, Österreich - The fourth environmental cherrial day of the Waste Economic Association (AWV) Leoben was a success and took place in the Volkshaus St. Michael. Many visitors and 45 exhibitors came together to find out more about current environmental issues and acquire sustainable products. An all -round successful event that stood not only for the products, but also for the possibility of replacing ideas and knowledge.

by AWV Managing Director Gernot Kreindl, the National Councilor Andreas Kühberger and the mayor: Inside Nicole Sunitsch from St. Michael and Kurt Wallner from Leoben. Ingrid Winter, the head of the department for waste and resource management, was also present and emphasized the importance of such events for environmental awareness in the region.

Visitors: Inside, information on topics such as waste avoidance, recycling and sustainable lifestyle could be obtained at the various stands. In addition to shopping, there was also a varied stage program that included a school choir performance and a lecture by TV gardener Angelika Ertl. Her views on the subject of "The Garden of the Future - close to nature and sustainably" were very interested.

The award of the 4A class of the Pestalozzi middle school was particularly gratifying with the "Clean performance" price. This initiative should not only strengthen environmental awareness among the students: strengthen inside, but also take on a role model function. Numerous school classes from the area also took the opportunity to attend the event, which shows that environmental education is very popular in the region.

Various exhibitors presented themselves on the environmental cherrial day, which ranged from local companies to social institutions. The participating exhibitors included the Stadtwerke Leoben, the Bioimkerei Landner and the Repair Café Leoben, which could have sustainable solutions to repair everyday objects. This event is also the prelude to the re-use autumn, which provides valuable information for further recycling and the ecological handling of resources. In addition to the direct access to information, visitors were able to actively join the discussions on the inside and bring their own ideas. Interaction is very important here - via Facebook and Instagram is called on to share experiences and to visit the stands of the providers.

As in other cities and countries, where environmental education is very important, it is important to promote the awareness of the population for nature conservation. The Environmental Circle in St. Michael impressively shows how local initiatives can contribute to awareness and formation of consciousness. A well -attended event that not only represents a platform for manufacturers and providers, but also the citizens: inside gives the chance to take responsibility for the environment and actively act.
