But a radio play without a suitable background noise is like a concert without music. Therefore, the students collected noise from their surroundings to alive the texts. A Highlight of the project was a visit to Radio Helsinki in Graz, where the students had the opportunity to record in the studio and to learn from experienced radio professionals. Radio Helsinki's “Radio Ministering” series is an excellent example of how the history and development of the radio not only reflects the cultural memory of a city, but also promotes social cohesion. This series deals with the history of Radio Helsinki, which started in 1992 as a pirate broadcaster and became the first legal free radio in Austria in 1995. It shows the importance of a free radio for society and reminds of the exciting stories that are told by the voices of current and former employees: inside and listeners:

How the radio has developed, social relationships about this medium and the changed hearing habits tell a lot about our society. The conversations aim to make a collective radio memory audible and to illustrate the social value of free radios.
