Vintage car enthusiasts on a tractor trip: adventure in the border triangle!
In a wonderful interaction between tradition and nature, the Stainz classic car friends recently made an impressive tractor exit to the border triangle of Italy, Austria and Slovenia. This very special tour led the 13-member group through picturesque landscapes, with the aim of Monte Lussari, also known as Luschariberg, which is of both religious and historical importance. Harald Krois and Helmut Kohler took over the organization, while club chairman Paul J. Wiener was very satisfied with the process as a "only member". This reports meinzirk.at .
The trip began in the Tractor Museum Stain and led via the Hebalm, Klagenfurt and Villach to Tarvis, where the group stayed in the wellness hotel Andrea Canalini. Hotel owner Harald Prettenthaler had provided Fichtenholz from the 18th century for the hotel building, which certainly contributed to the special atmosphere. The delegation was welcomed by Stefano Mazzolini, the Vice President of the Parliament of Friuli-Julisch Venetia, in Tarvis.
The route and highlights of the tour
Overall, the tractor exit consisted of several stages. The third section led the participants to the beautiful Laghi Fusine via a gravel track, with the panorama being described as breathtaking. Another highlight was the visit to Hanni Kranic's hut, an Austrian, in the Resia Valley. On the tour on Wednesday, the group had to go back to Slovenia via the Predil Pass (1,156 meters) and through the Canal Valley.
For Thursday, the longest stage was due, which led over the Lanzenpass, the Straninger Alm and Kirchbach in the Gailtal. Unfortunately, a thunderstorm and the lock of the Mangsartsattel ensured that the program was somewhat slowed down and a visit to the Sella Nevea ski area was inserted. A stop at the Slavko-Avsenik Museum in Begunje caused nostalgic memories of the famous folk music of the original Oberkrainer. The museum, housed in the birthplace of the Slavko and Vilko Avsenik brothers, offers insights into the development of this musical genre and is a popular destination for visitors who want to learn more about history. Original music instruments and awards are exhibited, and interactive points invite you to listen to timeless melodies.
a successful event
The program was rounded off with a lunch at the Kanonir Maria Jokic pension and the challenging driveway to the St. Anna church. The journey home led via Dravograd, Eibiswald and Stainz. Paul J. Wiener, the club chairman, expressed extremely positive about the event and thanked the organizers and the mayors present. ORF Styria also let the spectators know how nice the weather was in Stainz. For everyone who is interested in the stimuli Slovenia, the official tourism portal slovenia.info not only information, but also inspiring stories and ideas for future trips.
