Knife attack on Jakominiplatz: 69-year-old injured, perpetrator arrested!

A 69-year-old Syrian citizen was violated at a knife attack at around 4 p.m. on Jakominiplatz in Graz on June 3, 2025. The victim suffered a cut injury on the hand, which resulted from an attack by a friend. Passers -by who observed the incident immediately alerted the police, who was quickly on site and met the injured person. The police investigation showed that the perpetrator, a 49-year-old man also Syrian descent, fled on foot after the act.

The police immediately initiated a search and was able to arrest the suspect near a tram stop. This was then brought to the Graz police recess center.
