Pentecost ensures mega-in-house: Tauern motorway blocked!

Zell am See, Österreich - The Pentecost weekend is just around the corner and with it a real travel rush. The ÖAMTC reports that the travel tust is very popular during the Pentecost holidays in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. Already on Thursday evening (June 5) and Friday (June 6th) the first delays along the transit routes to the south are to be expected, whereby the Tauern Autobahn (A10) between Golling and Throw is the main thaw.

Especially on Saturday there are long waiting times. The construction site on the Tauern Autobahn is expected to continue until the end of June, which in all likelihood will lead to traffic jams of several hours. But not only the A10 will be overloaded-also the Tauern Autobahn A10 will also be affected by numerous construction sites and traffic obstructions, among other things between Kuchl and the Pass Lueg and in the area.

most popular routes and duvation points

The ÖAMTC calls other traffic axes that could be overloaded: the border crossing Suben (Upper Austria) is expected to be heavily frequented, as will the A8 towards Linz and the Pyhrn Autobahn (A9) from Linz to Graz. In addition, there are other daubs in Vorarlberg, Tyrol and Carinthia, such as on the Rhine Valley Autobahn (A14) or the Brenner Autobahn (A13).

  • Vorarlberg: Rheintal Autobahn (A14), Arlberg expressway (S16)
  • Tirol: Brenner Autobahn (A13), Inntal Autobahn (A12), Fernpass Straße (B179)
  • Salzburg: Salzburg West Autobahn (A1), Pinzgauer Straße (B311)
  • Upper Austria/Styria: Mühlkreis Autobahn (A7), Pyhrn Autobahn (A9)
  • Carinthia: Süd Autobahn (A2), Karawanken Autobahn (A11)
  • Lower Austria: East Autobahn (A4)
  • Bayern: Munich - Salzburg (A8)

traffic information and protective measures

In order to observe the traffic situation, ÖAMTC masculine advisor Herbert Thaler will be on the Tauern motorway from Saturday morning. He will provide current information and is also available for interviews. In addition, the ÖAMTC offers online medical discussions for members in the EU area who can be valuable support for travelers abroad.

The current road conditions show slow traffic on the Tauern motorway, especially due to the normal travel load. There are numerous traffic jams and construction site areas from the St. Michael to the Gasthofsiedlung junction. Contributed traffic tours become the standard, and the crossing of the Lueg Bridge also harbors certain risks.

The Tauern Autobahn itself is considered a central north-south connection for German vacationers on their way to Italy, which is particularly noticeable in peak times. The burden of traffic jams is quite inevitable during the main travel times such as this Pentecost weekend.

therefore plan enough time for your trip and at best use the Insurance of the ÖAMTC Find petrol stations using the fuel price database in the route planner.
