traffic forecasts and dialing indications

Especially on the usual north-south routes, it is expected to be tight. The adac attributes the most common traffic jams to overloaded motorways and days with high travel. Everywhere the most sought -after routes are concerned: the Fernpassstraße (B179) and the Brenner Autobahn (A13) in Tyrol are badly affected, as are the Tauern (A10) and the Karawanken Autobahn (A11) in Salzburg and Carinthia. The Pyhrn Autobahn (A9) in Upper Austria and Styria will also be full.

The most susceptible areas include toll stations, tunnels and border crossings. Long waiting times can quickly occur here. In particular, the highway transitions Suben, Walserberg and Kiefersfelden are affected by the tightened border controls, which also makes the situation more difficult. Don't forget: the rescue alley must already be formed when traffic stalls to avoid fines.
