Fire brigade festival with cheerfulness: new breathing apparatus consecrated!

In bright summer weather, the traditional morning pint of the Oberneukirchen volunteer fire brigade took place on Corpus Christi Day. The event attracted numerous visitors to the fire department site, where the festive atmosphere delighted everyone present. A highlight of the event was the field fair, which was celebrated by Father Wolfgang Haudum and offered the appropriate solemn framework for the blessing of three new breathing apparatus. These devices, which cost a proud value of 13,000 euros, are an important investment in the security of the fire brigade comrades, as fire brigade commander Jakob Burgstaller emphasized in his greetings.

Mayor Josef Rathgeb emphasized the central importance of the fire brigade for the community and underlined the need to equip the team with modern equipment. He and other guests of honor, including the section fire brigade commander Karlheinz Pillinger and Vice Mayor Anneliese Bräuer, paid tribute to the commitment of the volunteer fire brigade and the numerous partner organizations who support this important work.

voluntary work and challenges

The voluntary commitment to fire brigade organizations such as the volunteer fire brigade is often a challenge. Many volunteers have difficulty bringing their volunteer activities into harmony with their work. As explained on Haufe, there is generally no entitlement to paid exemption if volunteering and working hours overlap. However, employees who take part in operations or exercises during their working hours can insist on special exemption claims that can also contain continued payment.

This is particularly important for the fire brigade, because the volunteers not only make an indispensable contribution not only in action, but also in youth work and fire protection education. The loads are particularly noticeable in times of crisis, for example during the flood disasters. The President of the German Fire Brigade Association, Karl-Heinz Banse, recalled the moments of fate in which the network of fire departments played a major role and offered mutual support.

a festival for the community

The morning pint also offered musical entertainment that loosened up the mood. The Musikverein Oberneukirchen and the party band "Die Dorfheiligen" ensured lively sounds that invited visitors to enjoy the being together at food and drink. Another highlight was the traditional maypole raffle, in which Gerhard Schwarz won a savings book worth 150 euros from Raiffeisenbank managing director Christian Pammer.

A big thank you to the fire brigade goes to all helpers, helpers and guests who contributed to the success of this special event. Common cooperation shows how important the fire brigade and its social networking are for the region, and not only on Corpus Christi Day. The Oberneukirchen volunteer fire brigade remains an important pillar of security and help for all citizens.
