Mauthausen, Österreich - In Upper Austria, an unforgettable leisure week for people with disabilities took place recently organized by the association frei-raus . From May 18 to 23, 2025, 20 participants came together to experience a variety of activities together that focused on joy and community. The association is committed to ensuring that people with impairments can take part in leisure activities.
The program design was as varied as the participants: In addition to city tours and museum visits, the week also included creative workshops and excursions, such as the zoo and a harbor tour on the Danube. It became particularly emotional when a blind participant appeared who touched the audience with his song interpretation. In addition, the "Boot" restaurant in Mauthausen was celebrated during a cozy evening, while weather -related changes led to a hearty snack in the Frellerhof.

The Frei-Raus association pursues the goal of offering people with disabilities to explore and implement individual leisure programs. The activities are based on the wishes, interests and skills of the participants: inside. The needs of people with restricted mobility are also taken into account by offering professional support. including leisure activities not only promote self-determination, but also social participation, which contributes to a higher well-being and an increased quality of life.
The leisure week in Mauthausen was accompanied by nine supervisors: inside, some of which also supported participants: inside with the most serious impairments. The exchange and the community were central elements that contributed to strengthening the self -confidence of the participants: to strengthen inside and arouse the thirst for adventure. This type of leisure activities increases self -confidence, promotes social interactions and helps to discover new skills.
