Grandios cabaret evening: until one cries enthusiastically Steyr!
July 6, 2025 is all about the cabaret, because in the Theater am River in Steyr the new game season experienced a brilliant start with the idea "Until one cries - an evening to laugh!". The two leading actors, Bernhard Murg and Stefano Bernardin, led the audience on a humorous journey through time through a variety of sketches, double coners, monologues and poems that came from different decades. [My district] (https://www.meinbezirk.at/steyr-steyr-land/c-leute/tolle-eroeffung-der-game season_a7434002) reports that the oldest sketch is from Hugo Wiener and has already been 100 years old, while the recent sketch was written by Murg and Bernardin for their program.
The mixture of the performances once again shows the talent and the experience of the two cabaret artists. Bernhard Murg looks back on over 20 years of experience in the Simpl cabaret and has also worked as a director for many well -known Austrian cabaret sizes. Next to him, Stefano Bernardin, who has already become known as Riccardo Riello in the ARD thriller "Bozen Krimi" and is also a Nestroy and Romy award winner, harvests a lot of applause. The all -rounder has made a name for itself in the scene, not least as a former conferencer of the Simpl.

A look at cabaret history
cabaret has a long and eventful story in Austria. Cabaret Archive describes that the birth of the cabaret on November 18, 1881 was marked with the opening of the "Chat Noir" in Paris by Rodolphe Salis. This was the starting signal for a development that was later to gain a foothold in Austria. Especially after 1945, independent cabarets were created outside of Vienna, which kept the culture of the cabaret alive and provided diversity.
The evening was rounded off by the announcement by Bernhard Opll, the organizer, who was extremely satisfied with the opening event and looks excitedly looking at the upcoming premiere of "A flea in the ear". Another large event, the Upper Austria State Garden Show in Schärding, continues to attract large number of visitors. The site always surprises with new flowers and intensive care and is also an attraction for nature and garden lovers. This shows once again: The cabaret is not only a place of laughter, but also a mirror of social developments and an indispensable part of Austrian culture.
