Help! Rama Dama in the Weeherei Museum Breitenberg calls!

A very special campaign is on the program this June in the Breitenberg weaving museum! On June 6th and 7th, the event "Rama Dama im Museum" is diligently tackled, because the small but fine museum is urgently needed. On these two days, volunteers are invited to help with clean-up and repair work to maintain the area around the museum. This call for support is coordinated by the organizers led by Christiane Seufferlein, who accept the active help in order to keep the tradition of flax cultivation and weaving alive. Tips reports that the work will begin on Friday in the afternoon and continued on Saturday all day.

The weaving museum, which has opened for its visitors since the 1990s, is devoted to flax and weaving. As the platform 1qmlein describes, the museum fights with challenges such as lack of staff and a decline in activities after the departure of the last museum director. Therefore, the help of the community is particularly in demand to keep the museum in good shape and further convey its history. Particularly gratifying: Last summer, the area has already been successfully cleaned by volunteers, and one hopes for an equally motivated participation this year.

diverse work and community spirit

What is on the plan? The helpers are also tackled when we would have flax, cleaning work in the three farmhouses as well as when clearing and disassembled and disassemble old wood. Anyone who has a good knack for manual activities is the place for you! The organizers ask everyone to bring their own tools such as hammer, chainsaw, and garden tools in order to be able to make the work more effective and pleasant. The main focus should be on the work on Saturday, but helpers are also welcome on Friday. In order to promote the cozy gathering, a barbecue evening will take place on Friday evening, while lunch and drinks take place on Saturday. Breakfast, on the other hand, recommends that the organizers should be brought.

And the best: the helpers have the opportunity to camp near the museum - be it on the bus or tent. Toilets and water are also on site, thanks to the support of the sports club. The weaving museum can count on a committed community, and with such an action you can beat two birds with one stone: the preservation of the cultural heritage and the strengthening of the neighborhood community.

background for flax work

Working with flax traditionally was a common undertaking that is deeply rooted in the rural structures. Preserving this tradition and passing on to knowing knowledge is an important task of the museum. In today's world, in which many small museums are dependent on support, every hand that helps is a valuable contribution. Projects such as "Rama Dama" are not only important for the preservation and care of the institution, but also for social interaction and understanding of regional culture.

If you are interested in supporting the Weberi Museum Breitenberg, you can contact Christiane Seufferlein at the email address office@bertas-flachs.at or by phone at 0680 2476272. Support this charming institution and experience how valuable common sense is!

For those interested in culture, there are also numerous funding opportunities that are available to support small museums. Various programs, such as those described on Museumsbund , offer additional opportunities for the preservation and development of cultural institutions in Austria and beyond.
