Talent of technology in the spotlight: HTL Grieskirchen crowns champions!
On May 28, 2025, the time had come again: The HTL Grieskirchen became the scene of the second coding and hacking contests (CHC), which this year came up with a record price of over 2,000 euros. Organized by former students, including Florian Dekker and Maximilian Kammerer, school teams competed against each other in various disciplines around software development and IT security. In order to make the challenge even more exciting, graduates were also represented in the competition, including a former winner of the Austrian Cyber Security Challenge (ACSC). This special fact not only caused a higher technical level, but also inspired the current students enormously. The excitement was noticeable because the students had to solve complex tasks and present their services in the live stream. The five best teams of each year gave insights into their solutions and achieved exciting ranking lists. The presentations of interviews and professional streaming implementation, which ensured additional spectator attractiveness, were accompanied. The contest impressively showed how much potential in youth is and that industrial competitions can represent a real motivation for the students.
unique challenges and solutions
Although the participants were confronted with a variety of challenges, one last challenge remained unresolved. This in turn demonstrated the high quality and balancing of the tasks set, since the participants reached their limits. The organizers of the contest, including Jonas Voitl and Julian Zecher, can proudly look back on the successful event. The event was also supported by the film team of the HTL Grieskirchen, which was able to capture the atmosphere perfectly. The conditions for the competition were the same for all participants and ensured fairness: all students of the HTL Grieskirchen competed in mixed teams, which promoted the team spirit and made it easier to exchange ideas. The contest is not only a test for technical knowledge, but also strengthens social skills and the sense of community among the students. The prize money was made possible by numerous sponsors, which included Lab73 and the Bait support association, as well as other companies from industry and business. This support is of great importance for both the pupils and the school because it shows that the commitment in the area of IT and its funding in the region is very popular. supporters and sponsors
