Summer festival in Bad Ischl: Neighbors celebrated under imperial weather!

In bright sunshine, the summer festival took place on June 25th on Brachbergstrasse. Organized by "Living in Dialogue", the event was able to attract numerous residents. Families with children, young people and older people were numerous and provided a happy atmosphere. The goal of the festival was clearly defined: to promote cooperation in the district and to establish new neighborhood contacts. Many participants were happy to get to know each other better in a relaxed round. MeinDärzirk reports that ...

A special highlight was the varied children's program, which was designed by the Catholic Church by Birgit Thumfahrt. From handicrafts to games to creative activities - there was a lot to discover for the young festival visitors. The adults also got their money's worth: with Turkish coffee and traditional pastries, not only enjoyed, but also a lively chat. The support of Mayor Ines Schiller and social city councilor Marija Gavric, who not only came up with delicious treats, but also belonged to the concerns of the residents, was highly valued by the participants.

community work as a key to integration

This summer festival is more than just a sociable get -together. It is part of the community work that has become increasingly important in recent years. The aim of this work is to combat isolation and social exclusion and create encounters that go beyond cultural events and workshops. According to the meeting center , which offers intercultural community work, such initiatives promote multilingualism and the exchange between different generations. People with different backgrounds can come together in an open dialogue.

The tradition of community work goes back over 125 and originally comes from England and the USA. It is specifically used in areas with development needs to strengthen social structures. This type of social work is required, especially in times like now, when migration and integration are challenges for many communities. An example of the theoretical basis is the book "Community work and migration. Current challenges in the neighborhood and neighborhood", which deals with both theoretical basics and practical examples. You can find more about this in the Network for democracy and Participation .

The summer festival is already looking forward to a reunion in the coming year with a lot of anticipation. It is hoped that the community continues to grow and that the offers of community work appeal to all residents. Because at the end of the day it is about creating a lively and integrated coexistence in which everyone pulls together. Whether young or old, everyone is invited to actively participate and bring in their ideas.
