Last Saturday, May 31, there was a large -scale exercise on the Feuerkogel in Ebensee to combat forest fires. The exercise, which started shortly after 7 a.m., was launched by the alarm by four fire departments of the Ebensee compulsory area and simulated an extensive forest fire near the mountain station of the cable car at approx. 1,600 m above sea level. In order to get the situation under control, the local management staff in the Ebensee fire station set up its operations center and demanded support from the St. Agatha forest fire base and two helicopters of the BMI.
