Running sensation in Ternitz: Ortner triumphs during the Gfieder run!

sports enthusiasts got their money's worth on June 16, 2025 in Ternitz while the Gfieder. The seventh season run of the Buckltour from ATSV Nurmi Ternitz was organized, which attracted 83 participants this year. The competitors were able to demonstrate their skills under the watchful supervision of Jürgen Wedl, who also acted as a contact person.

The route of the Gfieder run over 8.5 kilometers with 250 meters of altitude and offered the runners a varied route that led from the four -brothers tree to the Gfiederworte and back. When the weather was wonderful, the starting shot was given at 10:00 a.m. If you wanted to register at short notice, you had the opportunity to send it until 9:30 a.m.

The winners of the day

Bernhard Ortner from MTB Bucklige Welt won the victory with a time of 33:46 minutes. It was not far behind that Markus Feyel achieved second place in 35:32 minutes and Andreas Gruber from the Wechselland Runners completed the podium in third place with 37:22 minutes. These services are rewarded with unique Gfiederlauf trophies that are awarded the first to third places in the respective classes.

The framework of the event

The event was part of the Buckltour, a popular running cup in Lower Austria and Middle Burgenland, which includes ten different mountain runs. The participants must complete between 180 and 670 meters of altitude and distances of 5,500 to 16,000 meters. For the overall ranking, the best six results of an athlete are taken into account, which makes the competition particularly exciting throughout the tour , reports Hdsports .

The entry fee for the runners was 17 euros, whereby the registration on site caused additional costs. The enthusiasm for this sport and the excellent organized event show that the Gfieder is firmly anchored in the calendar of sports lovers. The participants can already look forward to the upcoming events within the Buckltour, which will offer even more exciting challenges

All in all, the Gfieder was a complete success in Ternitz and a great event for everyone who loves nature and running. The next highlight of the Buckltour is already taking place in Bad Schönau, where exciting competitions are expected again reported.
