New road construction boss in St. Pölten: Gernot Kampl takes over from July!
As early as July 1, 2025, Gernot Kampl will take over the management of the Lower Austrian road construction department 5 in St. Pölten. The Lower Austrian state government officially announced this decision today. Kampl brings comprehensive experiences in the road construction and bridge construction management, which he has gained since entering the state service in 2007. The 38-year-old was recently deputy head of the planning and construction of the Lower Austrian road construction department 4 in Wiener Neustadt, where he had already taken on several responsible activities in the group road and in the building management. Through his well-founded training, which he crowned a bachelor's and master's degree in civil engineering and construction management at the FH Campus Vienna, Kampl brought the necessary set-up for his new tasks.
With a solid school basis - elementary school in Zöbern and high school of the Archdiocese of Vienna Sachsenbrunn - as well as a degree at the HTL Wiener Neustadt, Department of Building Technology Hochbau, Kampl has acquired a remarkable knowledge over the years. In 2012 he also passed the master builder examination in Langenlois, which will continue to strengthen his qualifications.
renovation of the Pfennigbach Bridge in Puchberg
On the occasion of his soon switch to the management of the department, Kampl was recently together with MP Jürgen Handler and Mayor Christian Dungl in Puchberg am Schneeberg to check the progress of the renovation of the bridge over the Pfennigbach. This renovation is not a small matter, as the findings show: massive settlement damage over a length of around 30 meters has been determined, and there is a suspicion that the existing concrete box channel may no longer be tight. The Lower Austrian road service then decided on the renovation concept, which provides for the stabilization of the bridge with micropf counting from the Salzburg company Felbermayr.
The construction work started on May 16 and are expected to continue until the end of June. The total construction costs amount to around 100,000 euros, which are fully borne by the state of Lower Austria. The measures are carried out under half -sided traffic routing in order to keep the impairments for road users as low as possible.
technical challenges in bridge construction
The challenges in bridge construction are not only noticeable locally. In a comprehensive consideration of the topic, Baulinks on various important bridge construction projects that are currently being planned or implemented all over the country. It becomes clear that the upgrading of existing bridges has an increasing urgency to secure the traffic infrastructure for the future.
In summary, it can be said that Gernot Kampl will not only be responsible for the road construction projects in Lower Austria in his new role, but can also take an important voice in the discussion about maintenance and new construction of bridges and other transport infrastructures. It remains to be seen in which innovative approaches and common solutions to address the challenges of the bridge construction. We are looking forward to the developments and wish KAMPL much success in his new position!Details | |
