Pettendorfer Rangen: Finally under construction after more than ten years!

Mistelbach, Deutschland - In the picturesque region between Hummeltal and Gesees, an impressive wind turbine grows up, which will change the local landscape sustainably. After over ten years of waiting, the construction of the wind turbine in the Pettendorfer Rangen is now closer, as the Kurier reported. At the point where the foundation is now laid, a modern wind turbine will be created, which will protrude with a hub height of 166 meters and a tower height of 104 meters.

The foundation itself has an impressive diameter of 25 meters and needs 764 cubic meters of concrete to anchor the wind power giantage stable. After a construction period in which the foundation must rest for 28 days, work on the tower will begin. The mayor of Hummeltal, Patrick Meyer, plays a central role in this project and is a committed supporter of renewable energies.

joint project for the future

The establishment of this wind turbine is part of a larger project that was created by founding a joint municipal company called "Windpark Pettendorfer Rangen". This initiative combines the municipalities of Gesees, Hummeltal and Mistelbach. The seat of the municipal company is in Mistelbach, and it focuses on the planning and operation of a total of three wind turbines. Approval for the first two plants, WEA I and WEA II, has already been granted in December 2013, and they have been in operation since November 2014. WEA III is in the starting blocks, but can only be built with the shutdown of a flight radio fire near Bim Bayreuth, which is expected to be planned for the fourth quarter 2021. Further details can be found on the website of the municipality of Hummeltal, which in this context: Strom-report . This shows that wind energy is a market with great potential that not only offers ecologically but also economically interesting perspectives. Investments in wind power projects reached a total of 7.4 billion euros in 2023, with an economic growth of 3 billion euros through the operation of wind turbines.

In a time when windy times for the energy transition are voted, wind power projects such as that in Pettendorfer rang are a step in the right direction. Even if the way there is drawn from bureaucratic hurdles and lengthy approval processes, developments in the region show that the municipalities are willing to take responsibility for the energy future.

The coming months will be decisive if the large parts of the wind turbine - the gondola, the machine room and the wings - will be delivered in October and the tower almost reaches its heights. The people in Hummeltal and the surrounding area can look forward to a sustainable change in the landscape and a pioneer in renewable energies.
