A look at the roots of the bandonon
The Chemnitz tango not only commemorates the music itself, but also of its roots. Carl Friedrich Uhlig, the inventor of the predecessor instrument of the bandonon, the concertina, is honored here. This historical instrument, which has a great Tradition in Chemnitz, offers a melancholic sound depth that ideal fits the tango. In the 19th century, Saxony developed into the center of Bandoneon production.
