Hollabrunner winner inspires with creative water project!

Hollabrunn, Österreich - The “My Trinkpass” competition has again ensured creative momentum among the students nationwide this year. On June 26, 2025, Federal Minister Norbert Tettschnig honored the winners of this school project, which draws attention to the importance of water as an elixir of life. Over 12,000 children from all over Austria took part and their ideas about the motto "My water, my darling!" implemented in the form of drawings, videos and other creative articles. The best works were awarded in the categories drawing and video.

The little Rebecca received a special award from the 2BHL of the HLW Hollabrunn, which inspired the jury with its drawing. For her creative contribution, she was rewarded with an experience day in an Austrian national park. Class 1ck1 of the HAK/Has Krems can be happy because she won with her inspiring video and receives a visit to the cinema including a popcorn for the entire class as a price.

Promote conscious drinking water

The drinking pass is not only a creative competition, but also an important tool for promoting a more conscious drinking behavior. Students have to document their water drinking behavior for over a week and receive a water drinking table that offers them an insight into their own habits. The aim is to encourage young people to drink more water and become more aware of their fluid intake. Teachers are also invited to support the kids in this important process, which makes the project all the more valuable.

After all,

water is not just an everyday product, but the basis of all life on earth. Especially in the context of climate change, which endangers the availability and quality of water resources, the role of water is becoming increasingly central. Changes in the precipitation patterns and extreme weather events represent great challenges for water management, such as [greenkama.org] (https://www.greenkama.org/klimawandel-und-wasser resources/).

water and climate change

Global warming has a significant impact on the water supply, which can be reflected in water shortages and increasing prices. In some regions of the world, for example in the Mediterranean and Australia, people suffer from persistent drought time, while other areas experience extreme precipitation and thus go hand in hand with flooding and contamination of water. These dynamics underline the need for sustainable water management, which is also discussed when students deal creatively with water saving and the protection of water resources.

An example of this important topic are the numerous creative contributions to the competition, which range from fantastic fountains to water savings tips. They show how valuable our water is and why it is important to deal responsibly. The drinking pass has the goal of creating a feeling for the relevance of their own drinking behavior and its effects on the environment.

Overall, it is clear that the “My Trinkpass” competition is not only an occasion for creative design, but also a valuable contribution to clarifying the protection of water resources - a concern that is more important than ever today.
