Heidi's ice bee: Six delicious varieties from the cult threerad!
Heidi Sabine Maier, 60 years old, is an entrepreneur who arouses great interest in natural and purely biological foods in the region. Since the opening of her self -service shop "Dei Speis" almost three years ago at the Wolfsberg Nord motorway driveway, she has brought fresh products from 15 surrounding rural companies to the local community. For Maier, freshness and quality come first, according to the motto: "Without additives, life is sweet".
If you look at the range, it quickly becomes clear that not only tradition counts here. Her ice cream, which she delivers with an iconic tricycle, an ape, is new to offer. She currently relies on six different types of ice cream: chocolate, banana, vanilla, yogurt, sour cream and apple. Each ball is offered for 2.20 euros, and an affogato, i.e. an ice coffee, is also in the repertoire. The ice itself is made by Demeter-Bauer Tatschl Vulgo from Oberleidenberg. Maier thus combines regional products with high quality standards that stand for the region.
a new sales model
On Thursday, July 17th, Maier will be found in Wolfsberg with her tricycle from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in front of the marketing hall between Euco and McDonald’s. The APE is equipped with a powerful lithium battery that enables a self-sufficient operation for up to six hours. So Maier can be on site during her sales time and enjoy customer contact. In doing so, she will bring her special creations directly to the people who appreciate fresh products.
"Heidi's ice bee" is not only intended for your own sale. Maier is flexible and also offers her tricycle for rent, which can be a particularly sweet addition to events and celebrations.
food and sustainability in harmony
In addition to the production of ice cream, Maier is strongly associated with the idea of emphasizing regional products that are in harmony with nature. This philosophy runs through her entire work in "Dei Speis", where fresh, seasonal foods are offered that have grown without chemical additives and artificial fertilizers. This is also supported by the requirements of the Demeter-Guidelines that aim to maintain biodiversity and to promote healthy soils for high-quality foods.
Demeter agriculture, as practiced by farmers like Maier or their supplier Tatschl, relies on biological growing methods that are in harmony with nature. The absence of chemical-synthetic pesticides not only leads to a higher biodiversity, but also to healthier food and a more stable ecosystem. Current studies show that ecologically managed areas have a significantly larger biodiversity than conventionally managed areas, which makes Maier and its partners' work all the more valuable.
"Heidi's ice bee" not only forms a new trend in the area of regional gastronomy, but also stands for a movement that sharpens awareness of sustainable agriculture and regional products. A visit to "Dei Speis" and an ice cream from the Ape are not only a pleasure, but also a step towards a more conscious and healthier lifestyle.
