Hiking friends celebrate at the PVÖ State Hiking Day in Oberwart!

Oberwart, Österreich - The 29th State Wandering Day of the PVÖ Burgenland was a complete success and moved numerous hiking enthusiasts to the Inform Hall Oberwart on June 18. President Helmut Bieler and district chairman Hans Goger welcomed the * participants * and ensured a warm atmosphere. Around 700 hiking friends took the opportunity to explore nature together and actively act. The routes led over picturesque paths with a large route of about 9 kilometers and a smaller variant of 5 kilometers.

The event was not only sporty, but also sociable. After the hike, the Styrian group "Die Edlseer" delighted those present with musical performances. State Secretary Helmut Schuster moderated the program and welcomed numerous guests of honor, including Leonhard Schneemann, Daniela Winkler and Heinrich Dorner, who all emphasized the importance of such gatherings for the community in their speeches. Leonhard Schneemann also delivered greetings from Governor Hans Peter Doskozil and praised the valuable work of the PVÖ.

A special focus was on the oldest participants: Gerda Lukovnjak, 93 years old, from Oberwart, and Robert Bednar, 95 years old, from Potzneusiedl, impressively showed that the hiking fun knows no age limits. One of the largest groups provided Rohrbach with 65 people, followed by Stadtschlaining and Forchtenstein, who also brought many participants to Oberwart.

Hans Goger took care of the physical well -being with a committed team that ensured the meals for all hikers. Daniela Winkler thanked Helmut Bieler for his tireless efforts for the pensioners in the region. In the run-up to the event, it was announced that Birgit Gerstorfer should be elected as the new PVÖ President on July 4, which significantly increases interest in the organization.

Another hiking day in Burgenland

Another highlight for hiking friends is the state hiking day of the Burgenland Senior Citizens' Association, which takes place on September 15th in St. Georgen. In optimal weather conditions, seniors are expected, which can hike in two different routes of 3.5 km and 7 km in the charming wine area of ​​the Leithage Mountains. After an ecumenical prayer in a marquee, the hike is opened under musical accompaniment, and all participants can look forward to a sociable conclusion with culinary delights. State chairman Ing Rudolf Strommer will also be present and thank you for the good cooperation.
