The aim of the excursion was the impressive Herberstein Castle, which is located in the middle of a beautiful nature park. For the participants there was an informative tour of the castle in the morning, which offered exciting insights into the history of the Herberstein nobility family. The cultural experience was complemented by a cozy walk through the castle garden, which is known for its lush vegetation.
After a strengthening lunch in the Zooschenke, the group was then able to explore the adjacent animal and nature park. This not only houses domestic, but also exotic animal species that live in natural enclosures. The carefully created park and the proximity to the animal world were one of the highlights of the day. The joy and enthusiasm of the participants were noticeable and made the trip an unforgettable experience.

The crowning glory was the visit to the Buschenschenke Safenhof of the Baumgartner family in Kaindorf. Here the participants ended the day with delicious Styrian delicacies and a glass of regional wine in a sociable atmosphere. The Naturpark offers three parking areas with a total of around 300 parking spaces for cars and a separate bus parking lot for up to eight buses. In addition, some companies offer reduced admission tickets as part of company agreements. Anyone who regularly visits the animal world of Herberstein can get an annual pass that is valid for 365 days from the date of purchase and enables unlimited visits to the zoo. From the third visit, the purchase of such a passport has already paid for itself. Owners of the annual pass also receive the “animal world” newspaper twice a year, which includes exciting stories from the zoo and invitations to special events.
