Musikverein Loipersbach celebrates 85 years full of melodies and community!

Mattersburg, Österreich - on June 20, 2025 is a very special occasion, because the Loipersbach Music Association celebrates its 85th anniversary. The association was founded on January 7, 1940 by Anton Janosch, a customs guard and Kapellmeister. At the time, the Musikverein competed with modest 20 to 30 members and had his first public appearance a short time later. Today the association has 32 active members, among whom 14 musicians can be found. Regular rehearsals every Friday evening and additional practice in front of important appearances are essential components of club life.

The Musikverein not only plays an important role in the musical design of events, but is also a fixed part of the community life in Loipersbach. Morning pints, weddings and funerals are framed with musical sounds, which makes the club an important cultural component. In addition, the Musikverein organizes annual events such as the Music Care Day, the day of brass music and a popular concert. The final march is popular among the members, a piece that will certainly not be missing at the anniversary.

challenges and projects

How many traditional brass music clubs is also faced with the Loipersbach Music Association to win the offspring for making music. In order to get closer to this goal, the project "Experience music playfully" was launched. At the moment, 14 children regularly take part in this program. "The goal is to build a stable group of young musicians," explains the chairman. Special support comes from the parents and the close cooperation with the music school. Interested parents can contact the youth worker Tina Pöpperl at 0664/2246782 or the chairman at 0664/88738025.

A comparison to the Musikverein Natschbach-Loipersbach shows that the brass music is also firmly rooted in the community there. Founded in 1975 by Rudolf Wallner, the association has developed into a cultural size, which is now about 50 active musicians. The repertoire ranges from traditional to symphonic brass music, and numerous projects such as "Sound of Movies" and Christmas concerts have already been implemented successfully. Here, too, the focus is on sharing the joy of brass music with the audience and winning new talents. This is what makes the lively music scene in the region and shows how important such clubs are for the community.

How the stories of these clubs illustrate is not just a sound, but a feeling that connects people and enriches cultural life. Whether in Loipersbach or Natschbach, the tradition of brass music is not only continued, but is still very popular. It remains to be seen how the next few years will run for the Loipersbach Music Association, but nothing stands in the way of a successful future with a view to the committed youth work and the deeply rooted community.
