Death in the Europapark: riddle about dead born baby remains unsolved!

In the Klagenfurter Europapark, a tragic find was made on July 5, 2023: a dead newborn that was discovered in a blue shopping bag of the Jysk furniture chain under a bush in the area of the "Iriskogel". According to a report of the Kleine Zeitung , it is a boy whose birth state remains unclear. A Graz forensic doctor could not determine whether the child saw the light of day dead or alive. This uncertainty raises numerous questions that are previously unanswered.

The investigation is conducted by the Klagenfurt public prosecutor, which is determined by killing a child at birth (paragraph 79 of the Criminal Code). According to Sn.at , the investigations are directed against both the mother and unknown, as the baby was not born in a hospital or with the help of a midwife. DNA samples of the infant are currently evaluated in Innsbruck, but so far there are no new information from the population that suggests the origin or parents of the newborn.

a shocking case

Investigators are still looking for a young couple who was in connection with the case in the area of the Iriskogel on June 29 between 6.30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. This time falls exactly during the period when the baby was probably stored. Despite intensive investigations, no decisive progress has been made so far, and the search for the parents of the infant is in full swing.

The topic of killing newborns is always sad in Austria. According to an analysis of the Research Association at the TU Dortmund , the number of child suppression has dropped drastically in the past 30 years. While eleven infants were registered in 2022, the statistics still show that infants and toddlers are particularly often affected by such serious crimes. This raises questions about how to protect the weakest in our society.

A grobble look at the statistics illustrates that most child killings often take place in the first life. Nevertheless, the case of the newborn found in Klagenfurt remains a tragic example that indicates the social responsibility and the need for preventive measures. The company is invited to deal with that topic and to help investigate the case. Every hint could be of considerable value.
