Enjoy chocolate: Become a praline professional at Heindl!
A sweet seduction awaits all the sweet tooths in Vienna-Liesing! The Heindl Confiserie, who has been in chocolate production since 1953 and has been based in Liesing since 1967, not only offers delicious chocolates and sugar, but also the opportunity to become creative itself. In a recently visited praline workshop, the participants experienced how to create their own chocolates. The place of chocolate art is housed in the Willendorfer Gasse, where a real chocolate world arises on over 12,000 square meters.
The Confiserie Heindl has always developed. Managing Director Andreas Heindl tells of the modernization of a former shoe parking factory, which now serves as a production facility. Around 120 employees take care of the production of the treats, while in the high season up to 170 the team strengthened. In addition, there is the Pischinger brand, which has been part of the company since 2006 and whose crispy waffles are also manufactured here.
insight into the chocolate craft
However, every news in the Heindl world goes beyond purely material aspects. Since the opening of the chocolate museum In 2001, visitors have been given exciting insights into the chocolate and confectionery. The museum attaches particular importance to the use of 100 % Fairtrade cocoa, an integral part of corporate philosophy since 2014. During the tour of the production facilities, visitors learn how jelly bears and chocolate bans are produced. And for the little discoverers there are special children's birthday programs with exciting activities.
During the chocolate workshop, which is a highlight of the chocolate museum, the participants not only learn the basics of chocolate production, but can also create delicious variations such as Mozart balls and vegan glory. So the snacks can decorate Sissi Taler with a lot of joy or produce vegan date creations.
The commitment to Fairtrade
Another important point is Heindl's commitment in the Fairtrade area. As can be read on palate friend , the Fairtrade seal stands for more than just a fair price: it guarantees social and ecological standards that are of crucial importance for the producers. The company not only wants to offer high-quality products, but also make a contribution to better working conditions and sustainable cultivation methods for cocoa producers.
The workshops in the chocolate museum are not only entertaining, but also offer information about the ingredients used, including the particularly popular ruby chocolate. In addition, school classes can look forward to tailor -made tours that take up the topics of fair trade and sustainability.
If you want chocolate and maybe even want to lend a hand yourself, Heindl is the right place for you. The chocolate and chocolate workshops are open every Tuesday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Rules such as mask obligation and distance rules were also introduced during the Corona pandemic to ensure a safe experience to visitors.
A visit to Heindl is not only a pleasure, but also an exciting journey into the world of chocolate - for big and small!
