The Pride Month in focus

The Pride Month, who has been celebrated since June 1st, is an annual celebration of sexual and gender diversity, the origin of which is due to the unrest in the "Stonewall Inn" in New York in 1969. The aim of these celebrations is to draw attention to discrimination and to support the LGBTIQ community. Despite this progress, the situation is still worrying: The number of attacks on the LGBTIQ community has been tenfold in recent years, which remains a big topic in both Austria and internationally.

The events in Vienna once again show how important togetherness and a respectful dialogue are. Whether when being color on the ring or in schools, the feeling of community and the steps towards equality are noticeable and of great importance. Vienna is on the right track to position itself as a city of diversity and to set a good sign against discrimination - both today and in the future.
