In the past, there have been comparable success in the Schönbrunn Tiergarten. In 2022, twins were born for the third time in a row at the Weißrüssel-Nasenbären [ Tiergarten Vienna ]. These were born blind and deaf and were intensively looked after by their mother in the first few weeks. Like the current young animals, they also explored their interior at some point, but spent most days sleeping on the side of their mother.

The successful breeding results are not only a sign of good care in the zoo, but also an important contribution to species preservation, as the zoo director Stephan Hating-Hagenbeck emphasizes. So you can see that not only entertainment is provided in the Schönbrunn Tiergarten, but also a very important part of the preservation of this special kind.
