In Hernals, a lot is happening in terms of sustainability! The urban renewal program "Wieneu+" is committed to making the courtyards in the region more attractive and climate-friendly. Owners and residents have the opportunity to clear and green their inner courtyards - supported by MA 22 for environmental protection and the GB* area support.

The initiative is no coincidence. Vice Mayor Kathrin Gaál (SPÖ) emphasizes how important the greening for the quality of life of the residents is: "The more green areas, the higher the quality of life!" In order for this green dream to come true, two funding opportunities are available: up to 10,000 euros gross can be requested for measures to remove and green, while larger, innovative projects can receive up to 500,000 euros

The funding covers many important aspects: demolition work, material disposal, soil exchange, the use of multi -year plants, the installation of cisterns and efficient irrigation systems are included in the support catalog. Particular attention is paid to the fact that the measures are environmentally friendly when it comes to the use of peat-free substrates and the waiver of PVC-containing materials.
