Sky Austria strengthens Juca dormitory for young homeless people in Vienna!
Floridsdorf, Österreich - Under the motto "Together instead of lonely" Sky Austria sets a Heartwarming sign for young people in Vienna. On June 2, 2025, the cooperation with the Junge Caritas (JUCA) was expanded: The new dormitory for young homeless people in Floridsdorf was recently equipped with a Sky Stream TV Box. This is intended to promote the exchange and the mutual coexistence among the young people by focusing on entertainment and community experiences.
The Sky Sport Austria moderator Kimberly Budinsky presented the TV box on a solemn framework and thus highly standed behind the initiative of the young Caritas. The UEFA Champions League Finale between Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan in the new JUCA dormitory was also used as an occasion to celebrate the new possibilities of streaming.
support for young people
The initiative of Sky Austria does not start without a history: Last year there was a first Champions League football evening in the old dorm in Ottakring. "It is important to us to contribute to the community," explains Monika Coupkova, Vice President Operations at Sky Austria. Maria-Theresa Kienzer, the facility management of Juca, also emphasizes how important the exchange and social cohesion are for young people. "Common TV evenings create a space of belonging," she explains.
Through the Sky Stream offer, the young people benefit from a wide range of entertainment: live sports, series, films and free TV transmitter in HD are now available without satellite bowl or cable connection. This expands the opportunities to exchange ideas about exciting sporting events. Numerous UEFA Champions League games can be followed live on the eight Sky Sport Austria Senders, both in individual transmissions and in the original Sky conference.
The seriousness of the situation
In society, the issues of homelessness and life on the periphery are more present than ever. The website "Sofahopper.de 2.0", which offers young people in hidden homelessness, is another example. The platform is specially intended for young people who move from "sofa to sofa" and is in connection with street workers who will help you find a permanent residence. Around 37,000 young people under the age of 27 are affected by housing or homelessness in Germany, and mulitple approaches to support are therefore more necessary than ever.
whether in Vienna or elsewhere, initiatives such as those of Sky Austria and the young Caritas offer young and homeless people a little light and community in an often dark time.
Sky Austria not only remains a leading entertainment provider, but also proves a good hand when it comes to social responsibility and supports young people who urgently need it.
