Wiener KinderUni: 500 exciting workshops are waiting for 4,000 young researchers!

Wien, Österreich - The summer vacation in Austria is just around the corner and with them comes the popular children's university, which will take place from 7th to 19th July 2025 at various Wiener universities. The initiative enables 4,000 children aged 7 to 12 to take part in a total of 500 events free of charge. Together with the University of Vienna and other universities, the lecture halls and laboratories open their doors to make exciting topics of science tangible. Meinverzirk reports that the selection will consist of 350 workshops, seminars and lectures this year.

The opening program takes place at the University of Vienna, where Markus Aspelmeyer gives a lecture on the fascinating topic of quantum physics. In addition to basic scientific topics, socially relevant questions are also dealt with. Other highlights include "The Green Wunderwelt" at the University of Natural Resources and Natural Heritage Vienna, "Excursion to Arguments and Logic" at the FH Campus Vienna, as well as "The Fabulous World of our Immune System" at the Medical University of Vienna. Also practical aspects, such as the workshop "What is a loan?" at the WU Vienna, are included in the program.

In addition to the exciting lectures, the children's university also offers numerous recreational opportunities. Chillout zones, movement rooms and a relaxation area are available for reading. This year, its own “children's unib library” will be opened for the first time, which serves as a source of knowledge to the small participants. Registration for the children's university begins on June 10, 2025 at 2 p.m. Registrations are required and can be made via the Kinderuni-anmanden.at website.
